Microphone Connected Mode

Stereo Workstation Software is designed so that you will never have to use a Microphone to create Sonic Performance Adjustments. The Head In Loop methods discussed in other sections were designed because Microphone methods proved to be difficult to implement in the typical home environment. But for users that want to experiment with making Sonic Performance Adjustments using a Microphone, a Microphone Connected mode can be enabled. You can enter your Microphone response curve which will be inverted and will become the active Baseline. You can set the Tones and Noise generation panel to send signals to your Stereo System. The Microphone input signals received from your Stereo System Speakers will be processed through the filter (which includes the inverted Microphone response) and can be displayed on the Oscilloscope or Spectrum Analyzer. You can Adjust the Track Graph to change the response that you see on the Oscilloscope or Spectrum Analyzer. You can then create a Baseline from the resulting Track Graph. You can record the Microphone signals to Tracks on an Import Disc.

Note that Stereo Workstation Software does still include an option to automatically create Baselines using a Connected Microphone. Download the User Manual for more information on Auto Baselines.
