The Automatic Disc Recognition (ADR) mechanism uses the Track Vector
(see Automatic Track Recognition section) for the first Track as the Disc Vector for the CD/DVD Disc. The numbers
that make up the Disc Vector are converted into a text string that is the name of the Disc
File for that Disc. Remember that the Disc File contains all the Track
Adjustments for
all Tracks on the Disc.
Now it is
easy to see how the Stereo Workstation can Recognize a Disc. The Workstation
listens to the first several seconds of the first Track of the CD/DVD Disc and
calculates the Track Vector for that first Track which is also the Disc Vector.
The Workstation then
creates a file name from the Disc Vector. This file name is a long string of
numbers and is the name of the desired
Disc File. The Disc File is then retrieved from the Stereo Workstation
hard disk and the Track Adjustment for the first Track in the Track Order List is
loaded and the CD/DVD Player is commanded to play that Track. The automation
then proceeds as described in the Automatic Track Recognition discussion. |
