Extensive work has been
done over the years in an attempt to automate the equalization process using
test tones or pink noise bands as the stimulus, and using a microphone as the
receiving transducer connected to a computer to perform some high powered signal
processing operations. Unfortunately, the results have been very disappointing
using this approach. The problem is that microphones and software do not hear
like the human ear does and even attempts to simulate the human ear and head
have not been very promising for solving home Sonic Performance issues.
There is nothing like putting a real human Head In the Loop as the receiving
transducer and letting the human brain do the necessary processing. This is what
the Stereo Workstation enables you to do in a dynamic and adaptive way. You have
Real Time control over all aspects of the Music that is playing and your own
ears act as the microphone, which makes you part of the Stereo
Workstation machine. During a Disc Session or during Computer Aided Adjustment, the fact that You are an important part
of the audio loop is made abundantly clear. |
